Advanced Division

Through the Ballet Conservatory’s structured and comprehensive syllabus, students develop the technical strength, artistic expression and self-confidence required for a career in the world of ballet. The curriculum includes technique class, pointe, variations, partnering, stretch, modern, and character.

Students in the Advanced Division earn their placement in each level through hard work, determination, and discipline. Those who have achieved proper technique may qualify to participate in pointe, pas de deux, and variations, in addition to the regular technique classes. The amount of time spent in a level depends solely on the student’s individual improvement and is determined by the Artistic Director.

Performance experience is integral to preparing a student for life in a professional company. All students are invited to participate in the End of Year Academy Showcase. Students in levels Ballet IV through Ballet VI have the opportunity to perform in two additional productions as part of the Company as well as other performance opportunities throughout the season.

Admission into the Advanced Division is achieved through an evaluation process and advancement is based on skill, potential and previous training. The minimum number of classes required for each level is listed below. Advanced division students may take additional classes in lower levels at no charge.
