Beginner Division
The Ballet Conservatory’s teaching philosophy is based upon the premise that children thrive in a loving, positive and nurturing environment. Our programs for young children are designed to incorporate learning, creativity, musicality and fun. Classes are taught by highly experienced teachers who all have a special love for teaching our youngest dancers.
Children learn coordination, ballet vocabulary, and classroom etiquette in a progressive sequence based on their development. These classes help your child develop the life-long skills of focus, discipline and confidence while having fun and expressing their creativity.
Creative Movement I (ages 3 – 4 1/2)
Class meets once per week for 45 minutes.
Designed to introduce the youngest dancer to movement and musicality. Through age appropriate activities, students explore their imagination and creativity while developing both fine and gross motor skills. Basic classical ballet foundations are introduced such as ballet vocabulary, positions, body posture, stretching, and class etiquette.

Creative Movement II (ages 4 1/2 – 5 1/2)
Class meets once per week for 45 minutes.
Your child will gain a higher awareness of music, rhythm, and movement. Classroom activities are designed to develop strength, coordination, creative thinking, and expression. Through classroom movement, children will develop spatial awareness, flexibility, and refine motor skills.

Pre-Ballet (ages 5 1/2 – 6 1/2)
Class meets once per week for 1 hour.
Students experience a more structured class than the Creative Movement classes. Pre-Ballet is a transition class and develops a foundation for ballet technique and discipline. Ballet conduct, stretching, coordination exercises, and movement across the floor are augmented. In addition, use of the movement “plié”, stretching of the legs, pointed feet, and higher jumps are emphasized in a dynamic and fun environment.

Primary Ballet (ages 6 1/2 – 8)
Class meets once per week for 1 hour.
This class is a continuation of our Pre-Ballet level. Class is more structured and exercises focus on muscular development. Spotting is introduced and ballet posture, balance, terminology, and classical ballet positions are emphasized.
